• Not heating or cooling: Make sure the controller is set to heating/cooling as this is the most common diagnosis we make. If the air conditioning unit is neither heating or cooling. Then the system might be short of refrigerant gas indicating a leak has occurred.
• Gas Leak: All systems come pre-charged with refrigerant gas and should not need a top up unless a leak has occurred.
• Leaking Water: The main reason for a unit leaking is the condensate pump has failed.
• Noisy: If either the indoor or outdoor unit are making more noise than usual, then the fan motor or the condensate pump might be faulty.
• Bad smell: As the unit recirculates the air within the room, smells build up on the cooling coils. In turn building up bacteria that can only be removed by a specialist.
